It’s mid November, and the build up to Christmas is in full swing! While I’m burying my head in the sand, trying to avoid the impending sense of urgency to buy presents for everyone, as always, other more logical and organised members of society are planning ahead, and are thinking of the best way to mark Chrimbo 2015 in style! One of my good friends and regular customers asked me to take some photos of her and her family so that she could prepare for the festive season with a family Christmas card to mark the first Christmas for their brand new baby Daughter. And I couldn’t be happier to do it!

It’s the first time I’ve ever done a shoot like this before, but boy was it worth it. I was quite fortunate that one of the the parent’s friends had this gorgeous summer house in their garden, full with wonderful trinkets! We dusted off the Christmas decorations and set up the scene in no time, et voila! I got snapping and got some lovely photos that I’m really proud of! I also had fun putting my ‘graphic-designer’ and photo editing skills into practice by adding some out-of-focus light spots, which look aptly like snow falling in the scene; it was fun adding this and I think adds a cool effect to the overall image.
The only downside was that the poor little bubba was teething, so she wasn’t as smiley as she usually is. None-the-less, she still looks incredibly cute, and the photos make for a wonderful keep-sake that the entire family can enjoy looking back at year after year! Thank you to Danny and Jo for letting me take photos of their little family!
I’d love to do more stylised shoots in the future – If you have any ideas in your head that you would like to become reality with my help, just contact me 🙂
